First new configuration Filtrabit unit comes off the assembly line by Volter

Filtrabit’s technical partner Volter has finished assembling the first flow-dynamic dust separator unit in the new configuration they led the design on.

The newly designed configuration further improves the maintainability and ease of operation of the system at the customer’s site, as well as making the assembly more efficient.

The skid-mounted design is divided into two elements, allowing for more flexibility in both assembly and customer installations. The first skid-mounted element contains the dust separation equipment, while the second element holds the suction fan and the control unit.

In tight-fitting customer installations, the two elements can even be installed in a custom orientation without the container.

The elements can be worked on separately in assembly, increasing throughput and supply chain flexibility. Cable harnesses and convenient cable routing designs make connecting the elements a plug-and-play affair.

Jyri Tolonen, Chief Product Officer of Filtrabit:

“This new configuration of our flow-dynamic dust separator units has some key benefits for both our supply chain and customer offering. We’ve come across real-world examples of retrofit needs where space is even more limited than a standard shipping container requires. This increased flexibility gives us even more of an advantage compared to legacy solutions.

Another customer option enabled by this design is the flat belt conveyor for transporting the recovered raw material. For many use cases, this is a natural solution that fits well into existing infrastructure at the customer’s site.”

Iikka Ylikoski, Project Director of Volter:

“We are very happy with the way the project turned out. Together with Filtrabit’s design team, we were able to achieve the desired improvements that help with scaling production and allow for more customer optionality.

We expect to get very busy with assembling these units as the innovation gains more and more ground in the targeted industries. So in a sense, we’ve helped make our own jobs easier in the future.”
