SSAB and Filtrabit have agreed on the delivery of a modular dust extraction unit, to add to the capacity of the flow-dynamic filter already operating in SSAB’s steel mill in Raahe, Finland.
Timo Vierimaa, Technology Manager at SSAB Raahe:
“SSAB aims to be a leader in fossil-free steel production, and Filtrabit’s modular technology for dust extraction is a perfect fit for our continuously changing technology landscape. The ability to adapt to even radical changes in our production methods is invaluable to us.
Our experience with Filtrabit’s flow-dynamics-based method for dust extraction has been extremely positive, and we have decided to place an order for another unit. We expect to continue the positive development in our reduced particulate emissions and maintenance needs by the added capacity.”
Kim Fagerlund, CEO of Filtrabit:
“We have been in close cooperation with SSAB for years already while developing the flow-dynamic filter technology. The best recognition of our efforts and the efficacy of our solution in this demanding environment, is to get another order from the same client.
Our modular solution with a monthly operating lease model has proved to be an excellent fit for clients to answer their dust extraction needs in this rapidly changing environment.”
Filtrabit is Finnish manufacturer of industrial-scale dust extraction systems. Filtrabit’s solution effectively extracts industrial dust-containing gas streams, which helps reduce air pollutants from industrial sources and accelerate emissions reductions through the reuse of recovered raw materials.
