Filtrabit and Outokumpu sign agreement for modular dust extraction unit

Filtrabit and Outokumpu have agreed on the delivery of a modular dust extraction unit to be placed at the melting shop of Outokumpu’s stainless steel plant located in Tornio, Finland.

The modular unit is fitted with Filtrabit’s patented flow-dynamic dust separation technology and represents an entirely new category of industrial dust extraction equipment. The contract was signed in the form of an operating lease agreement.

The dust separated by the new unit contains valuable raw materials that in the future can be put to immediate reuse here at the facility, without needing to be sent to an outside facility to be remelted, processed and shipped back to us.

Even more important to us than the direct economic value, is the environmental impact. Our preliminary calculations indicate that the resulting CO2 reduction is to be considerable.
